Hello everyone! I am Kawamitsu, the LFC representative.
It is gradually turning into autumn in Okinawa, how are you doing?
Today's blog is about a chiropractic seminar I attended in Orlando, Florida, from October 9 to 11. This seminar was held by SORSI, the organization that is the originator of the SOT technique that we at LFC mainly deal with, and it was also the 100th anniversary of the invention of the SOT by Dr. DeJanette. It has been a long time since I have attended a chiropractic seminar, maybe 10 years or so. The main focus of the seminar was a course on pediatric chiropractic.
The first thing I saw when I arrived at the hotel where the event was to be held on Thursday the 9th, the first day of the event, was a banner congratulating the SOT on its 100th anniversary. Among the names on the banner was that of my own chiropractic mentor, Dr. Nelson Decamp, who passed away three years ago! I had been agonizing over my questions and doubts since my late mentor passed away 3 years ago, but I was still technically inexperienced and could not ask anyone when I had a question.
The seminar was too vast in content for me to digest, but I could really feel the passion of the doctors who are still working hard to carry on this wonderful SOT as the legends of the SOT world are passing away one after the other.
Dr. Mark was a young Marine who was stationed in Okinawa in the 1980's. He met a chiropractor who was an SOT doctor. He decided to become a chiropractor after that encounter. After he retired from the Marines, he entered a doctoral program in chiropractic and started working again in Okinawa in the 1990s after graduating. As far as I know, there have always been chiropractors from the US living in Okinawa, and they use SOT. I will continue to use SOT to further improve my skills and continue to serve my patients.
Dr. Nobu has participated in the SOT seminar 2025 in Orlando, FL
This is Dr. Nobu Kawamitsu, D.C. the representative of LFC.
It feels like autumn is slowly approaching Okinawa.
